African Asses

African Fact:  Researchers, trying to identify animals in studies, often sketch animals face markings.  For zebras, researchers often use their back end markings instead of their head markings since most of the time when you see a zebra they are walking away from you.

One year, as I was about to leave for Africa, on my "to do" list was paint and recorate my half bath off the living room.  I decided to turn it into an African bathroom.  While in Africa I was to concentrate on getting photos of as many African asses as possible to frame in that bathroom.  These are some of the results of those efforts.  Can you identify the asses?

When you are sitting in your car alone in the pressence of a big male lion your first thought is not, "Oh, I need to get a photo of his ass."  I watched this lion for almost an entire day eating what was left of a buffalo kill.  When he finally finished and turned the kill over to the awaiting vultures, hyena and jackal he began to leisurely walk down the road.  I sat in my car and watched him saunter away, his belly full.  Suddenly it dawned on me I was letting a great ass photo opportunity walk away.  I cranked up my car and eased up the road to him and got this shot.
