African Advice:  Always shake out your shoes before sticking your feet into them.  Many things may have crawled in like scorpions, snakes, spiders or a bat.  Yes, I said a bat.  One morning Michael shook out his shoes and out came a dead bat.  We will never know if the bat fell, killing himself in the fall, and happen to fall into the shoe or if he crawled in and died from being in the shoe....

I readily admit that this collection of photos may not be as aesthetically pleasing or technically correct but when you see an odd site you just tend to click quick so you don't miss it.  Here is a synopsis of what you are looking at from left to right.
TOP ROW A hand raised orphaned lion that was raised with this dog.   A dead hippo in the Okavango Delta - what you can't see in this photo is the crocodile at his head.  Several Jackal shooing vultures from the watering hole with great vigor.  A dead bat that wasdiscovered in Michael's shoe one morning.
BOTTOM ROW  A warning sign in Mozambique that land mines were present in that area!  A hawk raiding weaver birds nests.  A pond that was bubbling over with bull frogs that had just come out after the rains.  And, from my first every trip to Kruger, a dead warthog hanging in a tree; only a leopard is strong enough to do that!
